It is recommended to preheat your hat, and cover the patch with a 3mm silicone hat pad when pressing

HEAT SETTINGS for tacky back patches (under paper backing)

Remove paper backing, secure patch on hat with heat tape if needed to keep in position (these patches have a tacky surface under the paper backing to aid with placement as well)
Temperature: 300 degrees
Pressure: medium
Time: 20 seconds

Heat settings for parches without a tacky back (may or may not have paper backing)

Remove paper backing if needed (sometimes it is removed already), secure patch on hat with heat tape if needed to keep in position 

Temperature: 300 degrees
Pressure: medium
Time: 45 seconds
